Grave Disability Workgroup California | Advocating Humane Care for SMI
We are a group of clinicians, family members, first responders, judges, and community members who advocate for humane and quality care for those suffering with Severe Mental Illness (SMI).
Our mission is to ensure that people with SMI receive compassionate treatment in safe and supportive environments. We believe in Housing that Heals — living facilities where individuals can live with dignity, surrounded by caring staff who address their complex medical, psychiatric, and social needs.
Our champion, California State Senator Henry Stern, Dr. Emily Wood, E. Kaino Hopper, Dr. Susan Partovi supporting legislation caring for incarcerated SMI.
